In 2022, CHANEL marks a new stage in the history of the iconic J12 watch and presents the first 33 mm J12 equipped with an automatic caliber, a true technical challenge and expression of the House’s watchmaking expertise.
Designed in Paris by Arnaud Chastaingt, Director of CHANEL’s Watchmaking Creation Studio, then manufactured and assembled by experts from the La Chaux-de-Fonds watchmaking Manufacture in Switzerland, the J12 33 mm is now equipped with an unprecedented automatic movement: Caliber 12.2.
Produced by the Swiss Manufacture Kenissi, of which CHANEL is co-owner, the Caliber 12.2 is a miniaturized engine where all the components have been readjusted to ensure unique performance.
Visible through a sapphire crystal on the back of the watch, the Caliber 12.2 is decorated and equipped with an oscillating weight in the shape of a perfect circle, the signature of CHANEL Watchmaking. It is chronometer-certified by the COSC, Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute and has a 50-hour power reserve.
The J12 Calibre 12.2 33 mm is available in black or white high resistance ceramic.
